A Taste of San Francisco

So I’ve been MIA from the blog world… and it’s mostly because of the fact that I lost all my WordPress blogposts last month (only my old “blogger” blog posts survived). Although I lost a only month’s worth of blog posts, it was my posts from the Philippines which I’ve missed the most.

Anyways, so here I am back in the blog land. I’ll try my best to be better at blogging. But for now, here’s a “Taste of San Francisco” from my trip this past weekend. It was for my little sister Dez’s birthday. It was nice to get away !! Even if it was only for the weekend ;-)

I wouldn’t be lying if i used the phrase, “don’t try this at home kiddies!” Reason being: the car I was riding didn’t have a sunroof for me to take this image!

Something I never realized… I shoot with my right eye.

True Occupation? Fulltime Dreamer!

During my shoot with the lovely Hicks family, lil Miss Olivia handed me a gift of thanks for taking their pictures. She really didnt have too! But the gesture was definitely sweet. What was even more sweet was the message inside– Thanks for the precious memories you create! Love Olivia & Caroline. The other message that caught my attention was the imprinted note from Victoria Secrets. I’m a firm believer that God shows himself in mysterious ways, and this was definitely one of those ways…

For the past couple of months now, I’ve been back and forth on whether or not to pursue a sideline photography business. My biggest worry was always the potenial outcome of failure. I just don’t deal well with failure… especially when it comes to investing my heart, time and effort. After alot of time, support and contemplation however, I’ve finally decided to go ahead and move forward with this new dream of mine.

Many of you may or may not know this, but I grew up as the daughter of CRUZIN DJ. This isn’t his main occupation, but more of a sideline hobby that he especially enjoys. He loves to entertain, rock the house, and socialize with all sorts of people! Because DJing is a hobby he does out of pure passion, he is able to refrain from commanding a premium price tag. This marketing strategy has been successful for his CRUZIN DJ business for over two decades now! (insert shameless plug here: www.cruzindj.com)

And this is exactly how I feel about photography. It’s a passion.. I do it because I enjoy it and because I believe that although memories are priceless, that doesn’t mean you have to break your bank account. I’m a Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse by calling, but I know that my heart will always lie with photography.

So four days after receiving the lovely message from Victoria Secrets, I’m finally launching my website! Whether or not this little journey of mine proves to be successful or not, atleast I’ll never have to wonder!

And besides, who says I have to stop taking pictures just cause my little business doesnt work out? :-) Like JayZ expressed when laid down the track for “H to the Izzo”, “This is Fun!”

PS. Thanks to my husband Ron, who constantly reminds me that my dreams don’t come with a price tag! Wonder if he’ll ever be sorry he said that!

The Hicks Family!

For the past couple of months now, my beautiful friend Sophia and I have been trying to coordinate a time to take pictures of her daughters. This past weekend, we finally made it happen!

Initially we were hoping to get a couple “family shots” in, but with her youngest being so adventurous, there was no patience for sitting around longer than 2 seconds!

And off she goes!

co05

Her oldest however was much more interested, especially after just recently being in a children’s fashion show!

A candid moment of Sophia and her husband, Charles. :-)

co08

With those eyes and those lips, doesnt she look like Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie’s first baby, Shiloh? Yup, Sophia and Charles definitely make some good looking kids!

The girls were having so much fun playing in the sand!

co21a

But what good is sand without tasting it?!

co32

i love this picture because the of youngest one’s expression! looks like she smelled something bad!

Since Sophia’s youngest is about the same age as my niece, I knew she’d become less interested with the camera alot sooner than her big sister!

co41

As for big sister, well she was a natural!
