As a kid, I remember watching movies like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty while my Lola (grandma) worked away on her sewing machine making clothes for her grandchildren. She possessed what I called, “the grandma-opera-voice,” something I’m sure every grandma has
, so everytime a song came up during the movie, she’d sing right along.
Today marks the 40th day anniversary of her death, and in our culture and religion, this day is symbolic. Last night she visited me in my dream and sang a familiar tune that I remember all too well…

“I know you… I walked with you once upon a dream.
I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.
And I know it’s true, that visions are seldom all they seem.
But if I know you, I’d know what you’d do…
You’d love me at once, the way you did once,
Upon a dream…”
