Eva’s It’s A Small World Birthday Party!

This past weekend, we celebrated my daughter’s 1st birthday party which was themed, It’s A Small World. Linsey of Lux Events & Design brought my idea and vision to a reality and I couldn’t have been any more excited to share these!! I was also excited cause it was the first time I didn’t have to stress over decorating another party (thank you Linsey!!) If you know me, you know I tend to go a lil overboard with my party themes and that I’m a sucker for detail, so be prepared for some detail overload!

First up! The dessert bar!

In addition to the catering done by the venue, I also wanted to incorporate a dessert from a different country… Hence.. one of my favorite food trucks – Crepes Bonaparte!

Next up, the party hat and kiddie bags table! Aren’t the little people cute? I got them off the etsy store, Nested. There was one at each table centerpiece!

Hope you enjoyed this post! I know Eva probably won’t remember this party (other than through pictures), but she’ll always know her parties were a labor of love!

Eva Turns 1! {Small World Birthday}

This very day last year, we spent our Thanksgiving day celebrating what most would consider the greatest gift… the gift of life…

Little Miss Eva Jade came into this world as a dainty little 6 pound 2 ounce turkey, and our entire little “small world” was forever changed. This weekend we will be celebrating her first year with an “It’s A Small World” themed birthday party (her first ever Disneyland ride!).

So of course I could not pass up the opportunity to photograph my little lovebug in some of her party decor. MANY thanks to Linsey of Lux Events and Design for putting this setup together for me!

To my sweet, sweet baby.. your dad and I are incredibly honored that God chose us to be your parents. We love you so much and we look forward to watching you blossom!

After finally coordinating our busy schedules and also combating the unpredictable weather, I finally got to photograph my lovely sister and her family!

I can almost picture my sister’s reaction to this photo with her husband. But because it’s a “family inside joke,” I guess you’d have to know us to get it!

My niece Khayla, is quite the diva. lol!

Hicks Family {Orange County Children Photographer}

I recently began offering *MINI SESSIONS* for the holidays, which differ from my regular full on Children/Family Sessions. Mini sessions are roughly 30 minutes in length with 2-3 setups depending on how smoothly things are going! (The mini session below has 3 setups). They are also a bit more formal, with less candids, although I do try my best to get those in! Also because of the short session, I don’t have enough images to generate a slideshow. But other perks do come with mini sessions! Although I’m currently booked through the year, Mini Sessions are something to keep in mind for future sessions and/or developmental milestone ages.Be sure to contact me for more details!

Anyways! Here is one of my mini sessions for 2011! You’ve seen the Hicks family on this blog quite a bit! I don’t know why they just keep coming back! But it’s been alot of fun watching the girls grow up!

Met with this sweet family at their local aboretum for family portraits! It was a beautiful location to just hang out, so I have a feeling I’ll be bringing my own family back one day for a picnic. The late summer/fall months are always my busiest times as families start gearing for Christmas card preparation!

Anyways, their baby girl was the best 3 month old model I’ve ever met! She was so intrigued by my camera that getting her to look in my direction was not a problem at all! After viewing some of my faves, be sure to view their slide show!
